FROM FIRST CONTACT TO TREATMENT — HOW IT WORKS

If you're thinking about booking and want to know what actually happens from first contact to treatment, this is for you. I've designed the process to be clear, thorough and as straightforward as possible from the start but if you have any questions at all just get in touch.

Whether you're coming for fertility support, a women's health concern or a general health issue, every pathway follows a structured approach. The specifics differ depending on what brings you in, but the intention is the same: to understand your situation properly before we begin, so that your treatment is genuinely tailored to you.

Here's how it works.

The first step is yours

Every new client has the option to start with a free 15-minute phone call, or you can book directly if you already know what you need.

The free call is there for anyone who wants to ask a question before committing, check that what I offer is the right fit, or simply talk through what's going on before booking a full appointment. There's no obligation and I promise there is never a hard sell - if I don't think acupuncture is the right treatment for you, I'll tell you that.

If you're ready to go, you can skip straight to booking your first appointment.

Fertility

People looking for fertility support have often already been through a lot - tests, waiting and questions that haven't been fully answered. My job is to make sense of what you've already been told, find out what new questions need to be asked and to build a clear plan for you.

Here's what the process looks like:

Before your first appointment, you'll complete a detailed intake form covering your full health and fertility history. I'll also ask you to send on any existing test results - bloods, hormone panels, scans, or anything else you have - so I can review them before we meet. That preparation means your appointment time is spent getting into the details and understanding where your head is at with everything.

Your initial consultation is 90 minutes. We go through your results and history in full, and you have space to ask everything you've been wanting to ask. I don't rush this appointment because it's often the first time someone has properly listened to your story and your concerns.

After the session, I put together a personalised written report - a detailed summary of my findings, the treatment I'm recommending, and any further testing I think would be useful.

Once you have the report, we have a complimentary follow-up call to go through it together, answer any questions and agree on next steps before treatment begins.

Treatment is then booked in as a course - I typically recommend a minimum of three months, and we build in a progress review as we go. I'd recommend booking at least a few weeks ahead to secure a time that works for you.

Women's Health

For women's health concerns - including hormonal issues, cycle irregularities, endometriosis, perimenopause and more - the process is similar, without the report stage, although I will make recommendations for further testing or refer to other professionals if I think it's necessary.

You'll complete an intake form before your first appointment, giving me your full health history in advance. Your initial consultation covers your assessment and we agree a treatment plan together. From there, treatment is booked as a course with a review after the initial sessions to assess progress and adjust as needed.

Ongoing maintenance care is available for clients who want to continue beyond the initial course.

General Health

For chronic health issues, insomnia, anxiety, stress and other health issues, acupuncture works best when we look at the full picture - not just the presenting symptom.

Before your first appointment, you'll complete a detailed intake form covering your health history, lifestyle, sleep, digestion, diet and stress levels - because the things that seem unrelated are often exactly where the answers are. Understanding how everything connects is what allows me to treat the root cause rather than just manage what's on the surface.

Your initial consultation is a full assessment where we go through everything in depth and agree a treatment plan together. Treatment is then booked as a course, with a reassessment at the end to review progress and decide on next steps. For ongoing or long-standing conditions, many clients choose to continue with maintenance sessions once the initial course is complete.

Ready to take the next step?

If any of this resonates, the best thing to do is book — either the free 15-minute call if you have questions, or directly into a first appointment if you're ready to go.

I look forward to hearing from you.
